Situated in Jurong, Singapore, the 92,560 ㎡, 7-story Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICS) is more than just a manufacturing plant; it is an innovation hub featuring customer experience facilities and a complex environment where various smart manufacturing technologies are developed and tested.
Equipped with research and development, production, sales, and service facilities, it is also a venue open to the public for diverse experiences. AA Archigroup integrated the concepts of a smart factory and customer experience space throughout the design process of HMGICS, reflecting various architectural approaches and technical elements for this purpose.
As an urban microfactory, HMGICS incorporates future core new technologies such as IoT, virtual spaces, and smart farms into the building, and the seamless implementation of these technologies was made possible thanks to AA Archigroup’s design expertise in the high-tech sector. “The HMGICS project showcases AA Archigroup’s advanced design technology and sustainable architecture philosophy,” said Kim Min-soo, managing director of AA Archigroup, which oversaw the design.
“Through a modular design that emphasizes flexibility and expandability, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, and an eco-friendly approach, it will aid in realizing Hyundai Motor Company’s vision for the future and establish itself as an innovative space that sets new standards for the global automobile industry in the long run.”
