AA archigroup

AA archigroup has been honored in the Architecture Category at the 2025 Korea Economic Daily Construction Awards.
The award recognizes the firm’s design excellence in the high-tech industrial facility sector through the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore (HMGICS) project. The ceremony was held on December 17, 2025, at the Construction Hall in Seoul.

HMGICS is an urban smart factory where production, research, exhibition, and experiential functions operate organically within a single architectural system. The project integrates manufacturing facilities, research spaces, customer experience areas, and a rooftop driving track into one complex. Responding to the constraints of the limited urban site, AA archigroup adopted an integrated mass strategy that vertically stacks production functions while inserting workspaces and customer experience zones between them. By reorganizing logistics and circulation systems, the design reflects a principle in which function shapes form across the entire building.

The project also secures both environmental performance and technical precision through a three-dimensional green cover network that occupies more than half of the site, along with a BIM-based integrated design approach. HMGICS is recognized as a benchmark project demonstrating new possibilities for industrial facilities within an urban context.
