Special Lecture by Architect Jong-Soung Kimm

Architectural Thinking at Mies van der Rohe's Office and IIT

AA archigroup continues its distinguished lecture series featuring renowned architects as part of its commitment to connecting fundamental architectural thinking with contemporary practice. For the third session, the firm welcomes Architect Jong-Soung Kimm once again.

Architect Jong-Soung Kimm is the only architect in Korea to have directly inherited the architectural legacy of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. After graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), he worked for 11 years at the office of Mies van der Rohe before joining the IIT College of Architecture as a faculty member. He later served as Associate Dean in 1972 and Acting Dean in 1978.

Under the theme "A Journey Through Architecture," Kimm will share his architectural journey through professional practice at the Mies office and academic life at IIT. AA archigroup expects this lecture to provide employees with an opportunity to revisit the fundamental principles of modern architecture and explore their relevance to contemporary design practice.
